Year six is a remarkable year where the children consolidate what they have learnt over their time in the primary phase.
Our topics this year:
- Ancient Greece
Light and electricity
Evolution and inheritance
Children are expected to read regularly in order to deepen their understanding of a text and language used; this will intern provide a sound basis for independent writing. We will explorer different genres of writing within our topics where children will develop their skills on writing for a range of purposes and audiences.
In maths, year 6 will develop fluency between representations of mathematical ideas and explore connections across mathematical ideas to develop mathematical reasoning and competence in solving increasingly sophisticated problems.
